Origins of XXL Nutrition
In 2003, a young electrical engineer with a passion for bodybuilding began a journey that would transform his life and the lives of many athletes. After facing stomach problems with conventional protein shakes, he found a solution in Germany that marked the beginning of XXL Nutrition. There, a baby food factory used a type of protein that did not affect the baby's stomach, leading to the creation of a new line of supplements.
The inflection point
After a car accident in 2004, our founder needed to recover his investment. With an empty garage and a brilliant idea, he started selling those same protein shakes. The exceptional quality and affordable prices soon caught the attention of more people, quickly spreading the popularity of the products.
The Creation of the XXL Nutrition Brand
That summer, while lounging on the beach, the perfect name came to him: XXL Nutrition. The brand was registered and launched in late 2004, starting with just 10 products. Initially focused on bodybuilders and cyclists, the brand soon expanded its reach.
Expansion and Growth
From humble beginnings in a 15m² garage, XXL Nutrition has grown exponentially. Now, as the market leader in sports nutrition in the Netherlands and Belgium, it offers more than 3,500 products and employs 200 people. With the implementation of a new extension in 2024, XXL Nutrition prepares to continue its expansion and excellence.
